My career in SEND support has spanned more than 20 years. My very first role, as a home program therapist for child with Autism, lead to working within a primary special school, both in the classroom and in an outreach capacity specifically with under 5’s with autism. My career then progressed to a Portage home visitor, supporting a diverse range of needs and settings.

From then until now, I have been supporting families through and after diagnosis, with home and setting visits, to encourage and empower them and their families, supporting inclusive strategies, EHCP applications, transitions in specialist and mainstream education.

Within all these roles I found a passion for training others to provide practical inclusive education. On a personal level my younger brothers have neurodiverse needs and having lived through various milestones and challenges, I have a unique understanding of the real-life impacts parents face within the education system.
